Driver ploughs in to pedestrians 'trying to hit everyone he encountered' on French holiday island leaving five injured before screaming 'Allahu Akbar' as he is arrested

The car veered towards pedestrians at about 8.45am today as the attacker attempted to hit 'everyone he encountered' on the island of Oléron off the West coast of France , officials say.
