Georgia has become the 30th state to pass a Religious Freedom Restoration Act, a law designed to protect individuals from government actions that substantially burden their religious practices unless justified by a compelling interest. The measure, signed by Governor Brian Kemp, allows citizens to seek legal recourse when their religious freedoms are violated and mirrors similar laws enacted in 29 other states.
