SpaceX's Fram2 mission achieves first-ever human X-Ray in space orbit
Wilhelm Röntgen's discovery of X-rays in 1895 revolutionised medical diagnosis. More than 130 years after that, SpaceX's Fram2 mission repeated Röntgen's first-ever X-ray of a hand, taken in space. Launched in 2025, the mission extended the uses of X-rays to include body imaging and diagnostics of spacecraft. On their return, the astronauts initiated unprecedented post-flight studies of the effects of microgravity on the human body.
