Violent crimes on Waterloo region's public transit almost tripled in last decade, CBC numbers show
A CBC investigation has found that the number of violent crimes, like assault, on public transit have jumped in the last decade across the country. That includes Waterloo region, which has seen the number of violent crimes almost triple between 2015 and 2024. But despite the uptick, Grand River Transit and the region say public transit is still a safe option.
