Ontario asks for federal help as northern communities prepare for possible wildfire evacuations

As wildfires burn out of control in parts of Ontario, the province is asking the federal government to ensure aircraft and crews could be deployed in 24 hours or less in case assistance is needed. Premier Doug Ford responded to criticisms Thursday that the government was underfunding emergency firefighting, saying the it would spare no expense to keep people safe.
