Grizzly reported in Sparwood

Elk Valley RCMP this morning advised that a Grizzly bear has been reported to be active in the Matevic Road/ Michel Creek Road area.
The bear was observed on the south side of the river close to Michel Creek Road and the train tracks.
Please stay out of that area and keep children, pets etc… out of the area.
The BC Conservation Service is aware of the bear as well.
If the bear is observed entering any populated areas or there is a risk to the public please contact the Elk Valley RCMP at 2
