Sault council narrowly defeats recommendation to prohibit election signs on public property

On the heels of two major election races, city council has narrowly defeated a staff recommendation which recommended that election signs be prohibited on public property.   The motion failed in a 6-5 vote, just a day after the federal election campaign concluded and candidates are retrieving their signs from across the city.   The motion, originally penned in January 2023 by Ward 1 Coun.
