Rising temperatures spell flood risk in Sault, area

Current stream flows are slightly above normal, and localized flooding may occur in low-lying areas, possibly causing water to pool on roads, Sault Ste. Marie Region Conservation Authority reported Friday.  Flood control channels managed by SSMRCA are currently operating normally, but water levels are expected to rise in response to precipitation and runoff.  Forecasts indicate five to 15 mm of rain over the next five days. Temperatures are expected to rise 2 C to 11C, while snowpack
