Pair face charges in overdose death

Two Sault Ste. Marie residents face charges after a woman died of a drug overdose in early 2024. A report of an unresponsive woman brought first responders to a residence on Gran Street in Batchewana First Nation on March 1. A female, 23, was found and pronounced dead, Ontario Provincial Police say. An investigation by the crime unit of the OPP’s Sault detachment, under the direction of the provincial police service’s criminal investigation branch in partnership with Office of the C
