Businesses and board members disappointed by city’s takeover of Sault Downtown Association

Following Sault Ste. Marie city council’s recent decision to dissolve the Sault Downtown Association (SDA) by year’s end, downtown business owners and board members are expressing a mix of disappointment, concern, and cautious optimism about the transition ahead. The decision, approved at Monday night’s council meeting, was nearly unanimous, with only Ward 1 Coun. Sandra Hollingsworth opposing the resolution to bring downtown services in-house.
