Walpole woman facing five years in prison given house arrest
A First Nation woman facing about five years in prison for drug trafficking was given house arrest after turning her life around. Nicole Joseph and Amber-Lynn White, from Aamjiwnaang, were given two years of home confinement in December in cases the judges called difficult to decide. Zandalee Murphy’s lawyer pointed to those examples while asking for the same sentence for her client, a woman with ties to Chippewas of the Thames First Nation near London and Walpole Island, who has al
