Officiating about 500 funerals and memorial services since 2003 has helped Allan McKeown appreciate the importance of people coming to peace with mortality. “If you’re afraid of dying, if you have that hanging over your head all the time, it really detracts from your ability to live your life well,” said the former lay chaplain with the Unitarian Fellowship of Sarnia and Port Huron.
