Steady opioid-poisoning death rate concerning: Lambton public health
There were 35 deaths linked to opioid poisoning in Sarnia-Lambton last year, public health data show. That’s almost on par with the 36 such deaths in Lambton in 2023, and roughly midway between the 31 in 2022, and 38 in 2021, amid the fentanyl-fuelled public health scourge that’s affecting all parts of Canada. Lambton’s death rate per 100,000 people – it was 25.04 in 2024 – has been above the provincial average – 13.91 in 2024 – since 2019. The numbers,
