Restored Canatara Cabin officially opens at Lambton Heritage Museum
The Canatara Cabin is back together and open to the public after arriving at the Lambton Heritage Museum about six years ago as a pile of logs.Believed to have been built in Goderich in the 1830s, the cabin was floated down Lake Huron to Sarnia in the 1930s, moved to the city’s Canatara Park in 1971, then donated and moved to the Lambton Shores museum in 2020.The cabin has ties to Canatara Park benefactor Maud Hanna and the family of former Sarnia councillor and builder Lorne Hay.Museum o
