Plan to close Mooretown campground paused by St. Clair Township
The struggling Mooretown Campground was given a reprieve. St. Clair Township council voted this week to pause for a year a plan that would have closed the municipally owned campground at the end of the year. That will keep the site open through 2026 as the township looks for ways to fix the campground’s financial troubles. Discussions about the campground “not making much money” and “being costly to fix” have been happening for some time now, said Mayor Jeff Agar.T
