Storm packs a punch; properties damaged in Nipissing District

It was short, but it packed a powerful punch. Hundreds of area residents were left without power and several properties sustained damage due to Monday’s rain storm. Some residents called it a hurricane, while others classified it as a microburst and a few described it as just a wicked storm. Mickayla Harvey of Powassan watched a tarp shed “explode” in her yard. “Between 2 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. I was out for a walk with my daughter,” she told The Nugget Tuesday. &ldquo
