OPP reminding everyone that false emergency calls have real consequences

The Ontario Provincial Police is reminding everyone that false emergency calls divert police, fire, and EMS resources from real emergencies where help is urgently needed. They issued that vital message through a media release. Making a false emergency call is a criminal offence under the Criminal Code of Canada, punishable by fines, imprisonment, or both.
