Young campers credited with locating missing child in Greater Victoria

A group of young campers at Goldstream Campground ended up playing a critical role in bringing a missing child home safely.
West Shore RCMP recognized the Young Men Second Ward Camp of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints with the Officer in Charge Certificate of Appreciation after the group helped locate an 11-year-old who vanished on Oct. 17.
Police say the youth left school and wandered onto an unfamiliar trail through a forested area, eventually becoming lost.
