Vancouver Island First Nation urges support for modern treaties commissioner

A West Coast Vancouver Island First Nation is urging all political parties to support legislation introduced to create a commissioner for modern treaty implementation.
On Sept. 25, federal legislation was introduced in the House of Commons, through Bill C-10, for a new commissioner who would report directly to Parliament on the country’s effectiveness in implementing modern treaties and meeting obligations.
