RDN warning curbside contamination ‘above allowable limits’

Regional District of Nanaimo is asking the public for help in reducing curbside contamination rates, which is above allowable limits, according to the district.
In a news release sent out earlier this month, the regional district said that they have increased public education and outreach efforts to reduce contamination in curbside recycling, as the contamination rate had exceeded acceptable thresholds for an extended period in 2025, and remain above allowable limits.
