New bike-pump track opening in Cedar

The second bike-pump track in the Nanaimo area is set to open.
Richard Daykin, Regional District of Nanaimo’s manager of parks services, told the joint inter-jurisdictional Special District 68 Sports Field and Recreation Committee at a recent meeting that there will be a grand opening of the new track, located in Cedar Community Park, on Aug. 31.
He said the approximately $200,000 project is being funded entirely by the Stevie Smith Legacy Foundation.
