Extreme fire risk prompts Butchart Gardens to cancel its 2nd consecutive fireworks show

Due to the provincial state of emergency, the Butchart Gardens is cancelling its weekend fireworks show for a second consecutive week.
The show slated for Aug. 22 is cancelled; a performance by Freeze Frame continues, starting at 7:30 p.m. While yearlong passes are normally not valid on fireworks days, they will be honoured Saturday.
