I remember entering the sprawling Bowen Park Cemetery many years ago looking for the grave of Louis Stark, a prominent Black British Columbian who operated a farm in the Cranberry area in the late 1800s.
Despite getting some vague input into where Stark, a former slave in southern U.S., was buried in the cemetery, it still took some time to stumble across the old and faded flat marker designating where he was laid to rest in 1895.
