City of Nanaimo and firefighters’ union reach two-year collective agreement

Nanaimo’s firefighters will be getting raises thanks to an agreement between the city and the union.
The City of Nanaimo and the International Association of Fire Fighters Local 905 have ratified a two-year rollover collective agreement covering 2025 and 2026.
The agreement, according to a city press release, includes wage increases of five per cent in 2025 and 4.5 per cent in 2026.
The agreement, effective Jan. 1, 2025, through Dec. 31, 2026, is consistent with other municipal settlements
