City of Nanaimo again asks province for ‘dry’ supportive-housing units

The City of Nanaimo is, once again, asking the province to provide “dry” housing units, where no drugs or alcohol use is permitted, in the new supportive-housing project planned at 250 Terminal Ave.
Coun. Sheryl Armstrong made that motion, which passed unanimously, at the city’s special governance and priorities committee meeting on Monday, June 8.
The discussion at the meeting centred on the need for dry-supportive housing in Nanaimo, and a number of presenters and delegations
