After two decades, Kebaowek First Nation opens long-awaited police station

After waiting 20 years, Kebaowek First Nation in western Quebec has officially opened its new $8.9 million police station. Leaders say the facility marks a major step toward Indigenous-led policing, improved public safety and greater autonomy, while provincial and First Nations officials point to similar needs in other communities.
