Sudbury police check 2,172 vehicles during RIDE blitz

Greater Sudbury Police charged 32 drivers with impaired offences last month as part of the annual Festive RIDE campaign. The initiative ran from Nov. 26 to Jan. 1, involving members of the Integrated Traffic Safety Unit and Patrol Operations.  During this time period: • 2,172 vehicles were checked • 50 approved screening device demands were made • 339 mandatory alcohol screening tests conducted • six standard field sobriety tests were completed • four drug recogniti
