SIU clears Sudbury officers in man's death in Chelmsford home

Greater Sudbury Police officers were not responsible for the death of a man an officer Tasered eight times in a Chelmsford home after responding to a domestic dispute, the province’s police watchdog says. Joseph Martino, the director of the Special Investigations Unit, also concluded there was no evidence to lay criminal charges against police after the man died on Jan. 2, 2024. Instead, Martino found the man – who was not identified – had ingested large amounts of cocaine and
