Homeless network activates Sudbury's extreme cold weather alert program
It might be Christmas Day, but Greater Sudbury’s Extreme Cold Weather Alert program has kicked into gear for tonight. The Homelessness Network of Sudbury said the alert will be in place for the next 24 hours. Funded by the City of Greater Sudbury, the program aims to protect those who are most vulnerable to intensely cold weather conditions and puts into action a short-term (overnight) emergency plan to increase community services when the temperature is predicted to be below -15 degrees C
