First female Speaker of the Legislative Assembly of Ontario grew up in Capreol

Donna Skelly, the newest Speaker of the Legislative Assembly of Ontario – the first woman to hold that title – grew up in Capreol. The Canadian politician and former journalist, who was elected on April 14, also lived in Kingston and worked for a TV station there in the 1980s. As a person who came from Capreol, Skelly said one of her goals as Speaker is to bring parliament to the people, especially for those who reside in rural and northern parts of Ontario. She also hopes to addres
