Missing persons program not used for suspect searches, say RCMP

The RCMP is not in the practice of using a missing person(s) report to flush out suspects or those already wanted by police with warrants, or those they are looking to charge with crimes and cannot find. Alberta RCMP Cpl. Mathew Howell says while he understands this perception of the public, he says this is an abuse of the missing persons. Friday afternoon saw the Grande Prairie RCMP put out a request asking for the public’s assistance in helping them locate a missing person, Kyle Lizotte.
