Motions to reduce capital expenses fail at Edmonton city council budget deliberations

Four motions aimed at reducing capital expenses didn’t go anywhere during budget deliberations at city hall on Tuesday. Instead, city council voted to buy a quarter of the new buses needed to replace an aging fleet, and to improve service in the areas with most demand.
