Campaign sign rules causing confusion, concern among municipalities ahead of Alberta referendum

Ahead of the October referendum, some Alberta municipal leaders say it's unclear who's responsible for enforcing rules around campaign signs. Changes to the provincial Election Act prevent municipalities from passing new bylaws or resolutions about election signs or advertisements. Instead, the provincial government can make regulations establishing rules on ads, including their placement.
