Cornwall woman charged with assaulting peace officer

A 45-year-old woman from Cornwall is facing charges following an incident involving a police officer on May 8. According to police, the woman failed to attend a Jan. 23 court date and a Feb. 6 court date and two warrants were issued for her arrest. On May 8 the woman was located by police. While being taken into custody, police allege the woman assaulted a peace officer while being taken into custody. She was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.
