Cornwall police charge man with assault, mischief, theft

A 39-year-old man from St-Albert is facing three charges after police responded to an intimate-partner violence complaint.Police alleged the man assaulted his girlfriend on June 18, then damaged her cellphone and stole her purse. He was taken into custody at police headquarters on Monday.The man was charged with domestic assault; domestic mischief; and, theft under $5,000.He was released from police custody to appear in Cornwall court on July 7.
