Man charged in auto theft probe

Police charged a man after a two-month investigation into auto thefts in Chatham-Kent. A 22-year-old Chatham man is charged with auto theft, possession of property obtained by crime, driving while prohibited and possession contrary to a prohibition order. Intelligence unit officers identified a suspect Wednesday and searched a Chatham-Kent property. The man is in at the South West Detention Centre in Windsor with a court date Monday. Police remind residents to take steps to protect their vehicle
