Chatham-Kent looking at additional dwelling units to boost housing

Given the ongoing housing crunch, Chatham-Kent is looking to take steps to increase local supply. A new webpage is now available with information on additional dwelling units (ADUs), which are self-contained residential units that occupy the same lot as a primary residence. They can either be attached or detached from the primary residence. The municipality has already established as-of-right permissions to develop ADUs in more urban residential areas, and enhanced municipal incentives. “
