It has been 20 years since Canadian soldiers walked into a Taliban killing ground west of Kandahar. Operation Medusa became Canada’s largest battle since Korea — a brutal test against a disciplined, entrenched enemy. Canada prevailed, but at a terrible cost, in a fight that changed the Afghan war and those who survived it.
