Canada's oil windfall may yet wipe out its losses from tariffs

The total cost of Trump's tariffs to Canada's GDP — about 0.5 per cent — could well be outweighed by the positive effects of oil topping $100 US per barrel. High prices that declined over the summer are back as peace recedes, and recent successes by Iran's Houthi allies suggest that high prices are here to stay.
