Horses 'represented freedom' for late Montreal artist Bruce Roberts. Now, dozens of his images of horses are on display

“The movement,” one visitor observed this week on viewing the images of horses in an exhibition of paintings and drawings by the late Montreal artist Bruce Roberts now on at the Gallery at Victoria Hall in Westmount. “Oh, look at the movement!” Subjects of Roberts’s work ranged from cityscapes and courtroom scenes to athletes and actors and musicians on stage.
