Burning of flag in restaurant, 'Slap in the teeth'

Brantford Police are investigating an incident on Tuesday in which a fire was set inside a Brantford restaurant.Tom Mercante, owner of Mercasa Little Italy Eatery at Wayne Gretzky Parkway and Henry Street, said two men entered the restaurant at about 12:20 p.m.“When they came into the restaurant, they asked our staff if we had anything we could give them because they didn’t have any money,” he said, adding that female frontline servers asked the chef to prepare something.He sa
