Brantford's cannon moving to Canadian Military Heritage Museum

The cannon that has been a fixture at Jubilee Terrace Park for decades will soon have a new home. City councillors voted recently to move the cannon to the Canadian Military Heritage Museum (CMHM). The move is expected to take place sometime in 2026. The cannon is a German Field Howitzer that was manufactured by Friedrich Krupp AG. It was captured by the 116th battalion including soldiers from Brantford and Brant County near Demuin, France, on Aug. 8, 1918. The date – Aug. 8, 1918 –
