Brantford brick and stone apprentice wins silver at national skilled trades competition

A Brantford brick and stone apprentice whose love of the trade is familial recently earned a silver medal for his work at the 2026 Skills Canada National Competition. At just 21, Steve Kranendonk already has several years of experience doing custom brick and masonry work at Kranendonk Construction, established in Brantford by his dad Ron, also a mason, more than 30 years ago.Kranendonk is now laying the foundation for his own career, while carrying on the family trade. “I just love it,&rd
