STM warns of holiday-season disruption as maintenance workers launch new strike

Montreal’s transit network is facing more disruption as its maintenance workers plan a new five-week overtime strike in a move the agency says could force bus and métro cancellations over the holiday period. The STM on Thursday said it expects to keep the bus and métro running, but it warned the prolonged overtime ban “could cause a shortage of vehicles and, thus, lead to the cancellation of departures or a reduction in service hours.” The strike action is planned
