Police expand bait program to address property crime in Abbotsford

A year-long pilot program of the Abbotsford Police Department using GPS-enabled bait items was so successful that it is now becoming permanent.
A press release on Tuesday (Nov. 25) stated that the program has now been expanded as a “core strategy” to address property crime in the community and target repeat offenders.
The project involves equipping items such as bicycles, tools and equipment with covert tracking and recording technology.
