Firefighters battling Vernon church blaze

Vernon Fire Rescue Services are on-scene at a blaze at Vernon’s Alliance Church.
Multiple calls were put into the fire department in regards to the incident just after 5 p.m. Monday, Aug. 31.
The fire is at the front of the church, and there are reports of heavy smoke billowing out of its roof.The church is located in the 2600 block of 43rd Avenue, which is now closed between 25th and 27th streets.
Many people have been lining the streets watching the fire at the historic church.
