I reported on the death of a teenager last year, but a trend has emerged that underscores Sam Altman’s inaction to stop OpenAI from coaching kids to kill themselves. But Google’s Gemini and Meta are almost as bad. Notably, however, Anthropic has not faced any accusations, which means its competitors could end the behavior if they wanted to.
