Fred Herzog's photos of a vital and joyous Chinatown resonate in new Vancouver exhibit

Fred Herzog’s photos captured the energy and vitality of Chinatown in the 1950s, 60s and 70s. Carol Lee loves them, and has been working to bring energy and vitality back to the historic neighbourhood. So when Andy Sylvester of the Equinox Gallery asked her to curate an exhibition of Herzog’s Chinatown photos, she was excited. “The thought of me having a chance to use the photographs of Fred to revitalize those very same neighbourhoods, how cool would that be?” said Lee.
