Institute urges caution in response to federal opposition pledge to simplify national construction code

The opposition has said they’ll cut the construction code down to an 80-page “Basic Australian Standard”, to which the Australian Institute of Architects has responded, “The code is a set of minimum standards and we’ve consistently said they should be strengthened, not weakened.”
