Price of driving: Transport costs are up, but there’s a silver lining – for now

The cost of getting from A to B has ticked up in the past three months, new data shows, but there’s another number providing some relief for car owners.
Average transport costs have increased by 1.8 per cent to more than $452 a week in the September quarter, Australian Automobile Association (AAA) data released on Wednesday revealed, with car and driving costs making up the majority of those expenses.
